Look, it's all simple really. Let me break it down for you
I've always loved making people laugh
When I was 8 yrs old - give or take a year - I met a comedy magician at a resort in Wisconsin and said, "That's what I want to do!" His name is Hobson and to this day, he continues to be a great friend and mentor to me. You can catch him as "The Trickster" in The Illusionists
My father got me started as he was already performing magic tricks for kids in his dental office to reward them for good behavior
As a chronically ill Child from 10 1/2 - 17, I learned how valuable a tool laughter is to bring joy to people's lives! Making other people (patients, doctors, nurses, staff) laugh made everyone feel better, including me!
In the 90's I began entertaining at private parties, in restaurants and booked my first corporate entertainment gig.
I went on to entertain corporate and casino audiences for the next 6 years
In the early 2000's I left performing and dove head first into the fitness industry and became a Certified Personal Trainer and then a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist.
2009 I returned to the stage with my own one-man-show "Sleightly Funny" that ran for two years in Evanston and Chicago.
I've since continued to train and entertain. Oh and deep dish pizza making became my new hobby.
In 2013 I had an Ah Ha! moment when I realized I could private chef dinner shows with my fancy schmancy deep dish pizza. BOOM! Magic by the Slicewas born!
2018 I became an assistant strength coach to the Chicago Blackhawks helping them with prospect and training camps.
Now? I like to balance the fitness and fun as I develop strength and conditioning programs for distance runners and fitness enthusiasts who want to look, feel and perform better...and EARN THEIR PIZZA!
My Life Philosophy: Your quality of life is in direct proportion to the quality of the relationships you have with the people around you.
What am I doing when I'm not training and entertaining? Wow you're nosy! I'm likely working out, running, leading brewery tours at Temperance Beer Co. in Evanston and watching my favorite Chicago sports teams try not to suck! Oh and I live on the north side of Chicago.
